i like my ele, necro and monk. depends on my mood of the day which i prefer out of um though. usually i prefer necro, recently i've been monking everything, but i used to always, always play ele.
don't care much for the rit or sin. never been one to hack and slash so warrior is a no no, i keep starting a ranger but never seem to get very far...

For my first choice I can't decide between mesmer and monk. Necro is a close third.
Hm, I wonder why Guru posters are disproportionately mesmer fans. From reading this thread, you'd expect to see twice as many mesmers as warriors running around ingame.

Maybe most of the posters here - or the main posters, at any rate - actually know the game well enough.

I think the only class I'm not a big fan of is Assassin - shamefully due to the way they look more than anything else...I'm so shallow. Other than that, I'm having a ball with my Monk.

N/Me Pwns all.
MM is absolute S**T - not because of how good/crappy they are, but how they are played. Curse/blood mix usualy works best, with a few mesmer hex's for backup.
Close second is warrior though, with monk or necromancer secondary usualy. I do NOT play wammo's or plague touch warriors - my builds are, as far as I know and am concerned, custom. I rairly see warriors using balthazar's spirit or enfeeble/rigor mortis/defile flesh.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that looks are a BIG factor, and will never play a canthan character unless it is only available in cantha (assassin/ritualist). I also call my W/N build a hexblade.

1) Ranger - Love archery and hugging trees
2) Warrior - W/Mo mostly... The classic hero/knight in shining armor/runner
3) Monk - Easy to find groups and you get to heal people n' stuff

Now and forever my Ranger. She is sezzy and versitile XD
And altho you didn't ask but it seems to be the trend in here:
Second would be my wammo (WITH MENDING! - only cause I run with 15% while enchanted sword and ONLY for farming.)
Second tied with Wammo is my NECRO! I am not the best MM but its fun, SS is great and if I can click fast enough Blood Spike
3rd... Well that would be my mesmer, who doesn't get near enough play time.

I started with a necromancer my first time in figuring that would be 'my thing' but then I tried an elementalist / mesmer and have found that to be very enjoyable. The only build I can find online for this mix is the 'nuker' build, which is not how I've been playing it, and with so little other information, it's been interesting to just experiement and see what I can do.

I love playing with my monk. Travelling around with my guild and henchmen around the whole game as a monk doesn't cause much trouble and is fairly simple and fun. Of course, there's also a little thing called '55'. =D
I suppose the warrior would be my second favourite. There's just something about going in-your-face to a monster and hack them to bits.

My ele, just because he was my first character. After over 1 million exp, a lot of farming, and a lot of FoW/UW with him, and its just hard to not love him.
My necro is a close second. If I had made my necro first I might like them more. Orders in tombs, MM for Oro before the book trick was broken, blood spike, and just a bunch of blood/curses stuff is really fun to play. Not really a huge MM fan. It just seems to simiplistic and overpowered in PvE.

Got to be Monk. Monk was my first character...it was Mo/R, and you couldn't tell me back then I was supposed to heal people, I was an Archer all the way. Pet and everything.
Needless to say, he's evolved since then, so Mo/Me gets my vote, as Mesmer is just plain retarted as a secondary profession (as in good ).

Necro and Warrior are my favorite characters as of right now. Necro, I don't know why. Warrior, I just like to destroy things as a solo fighter (not partied up).

W/N, always had, always will, since WPE in Oct. 2004.
W/N was just TOOOO good with the necro skill seet.
curses made him a defensive Lord (Enfeebling Blood, Shadow of Fear)
even made him deny some energy (wither/malaise)
Life sucker? Why Not (anything blood magic)
even anti-magic?! (mark of subversion)
Diseased runner (death magic, not minions, other spells)
And the ever popular
PLAGUE TOUCH!
Yeah, W/N is invincible. Lovin' it!

1. Necro - Something about casting Spiteful Spirit + Reckless Haste and watching them kill themselves.
2. Mesmer - Something about casting Empathy or Backfire and watching them kill themselves.
3. Monk - Something about casting Shield of Judgement and watching them kill themselves.
I mostly pve, so they do kill themselves.

I like my ranger, she used to be my favorite, but then I dsicovered Minion Mastery. Even with the nerf, she still pwns the games, when I run a MM build I always get master rank.
16 death
12 soul
8 healing
I got the golem, fiends and minnions
I attack with rotting flesh and plague sending
I use BotM for healing the "boys"
I have healing breeze, for me which also allows me to cast it on everytone else
And last of all rebirth, when we start dying, with 12 in soul I got energy to spare.
